I’m dumb founded, I truly don’t know what to say about these quotes.

“I was very pleased with the character and commitment for probably two-thirds of the game,” Colorado head coach Gary Smith said. “I thought the opening 20 minutes belonged to Houston. That was a little expected giving the way their form had been coming into today. We turned the tables in the second period. It was very exciting.

“I think it was a pretty even match,” Casey said. “We had a couple chances in the first half and a couple in the second half. We didn’t capitalize.”

Pablo Mastroeni called the game a hard-contested match on both sides

“I thought Houston did all right in the first half closing us down, and I thought we came out in the second half and did a lot better job,” said Colorado midfielder Mehdi Ballouchy.

Is it me?  Are my expectations to high?  Where does a fan turn when a dismal team, after a bad performance seem satisfied with that performance?

My mind wonders back to when my daughters received trophy’s at the end of the season, not because they won the championship, but because they competed.   Simply competing was rewarded.   How times have (not) changed.
