My Pogoplug has been working pretty flawlessly since I got it a while back. It’s primary function is storage for and serving of my music, pictures and video. I use it daily to stream music. You may recall I have two 1 Terabyte drives connected with ActiveCopy running to keep the primary backed up to the secondary.
One function I wanted to use was ActiveCopy on my laptop to backup files to the plug. I couldn’t get it working. I wanted to backup my My Documents folder but It would consistently fail at 3% copied. I tried copying to the secondary drive with the same result. I was able to copy smaller folders without incident.
I opened a problem ticket with Pogoplug support. They had me try a couple of things without success. Eventually they had me modify registry settings for ActiveCopy to produce detailed logs which I forwarded to them. The bottom line is they think it may be a power issue with the plug and they are sending me a replacement.
My support experience was pretty good. Most of the delays were my doings as getting this function working was not a high priority. They were fairly responsive so I can’t complain. I expect the swap out of the plug to be pretty painless, but we’ll see and I’ll let you know.
I keep toying with the idea of getting a second plug, this time from Tonido, but as of yet haven’t pulled the trigger. The itch continues, however
