I gained my nickname, Dr Dave while working part time at AV123 in Longmont, CO. I took the job in early 2008 after Mark posted on his forum requesting some part time assistance. During 2008 I must have worked on average about 10 hours a week. Mostly late in the day into early evening or on weekends. My job was to work in the warehouse under the direction of Lynn to attend to whatever projects she felt needed attention. Mostly I worked on building MFW-15's and X-Statiks.
I also helped AV123 when their forum went down in late November due to hardware problems with their hosting provider. Mark asked my help and the same day I was able to open a temporary AV123 forum using my hosting provider. While in the short time it was up, we never reached the volume of the "real" forum, we did see about 245 members create over 120 thread and almost 1000 posts. Within a day or two I also put up a temporary AV123 website which allowed Mark to post specials as Black Friday was rapidly approaching.
While I last worked in the warehouse for AV123 just before Christmas 2008, circumstances, my own and with AV123, have been such that I haven't worked for them since, I have recently (early to mid 2009) helped out Kyle with some questions regarding their current website and as they work through moving their sites to another hosting provider. (edit) The move of the site to the new hosting provider is complete, the forum however, remains with the "old" provider as we work through the details moving it to the new location. (edit again) - The forums were moved to the new site mid 2009.
On most other forums, I go by the name DavidJames.
If you've come to the page via a link from elsewhere, take a look around. Based on feedback while running the temporary AV123 forum I decided to open forum for people serious about audio, but on a budget. Let me know what you think.
Update: To those reaching this post from other forums and posts related to the issues regarding AV123 and Mark, here is my position.
1. If laws were broken, people have the option of filing criminal complaints. The issues can then be resolved via the criminal justice system where the issues can be adjudicated. 2. People also have the option to file civil complaints and have their issues resolved through the legal process.
I don't believe in justice via web forums.
